Getting used to my T-mobile Samsung T509

I have been wearing my T509 since I got it and it has turned out to be quite easy to get used to. It does not have one of those clam shell lids and thus is not a fiddle to get talking. I do not need two hands, as I unvelcro the flap of my belt holster and with the same hand, slide the phone out. Then I have to sort of bounce it around so I can tap the accept call key with my thumb.

I have missed only one call and that was because I was under a bridge when the call came in.

I was troubled for a bit about the volume of the speaker until I accidentally found the buttons on the left side that make the volume go up, and down. That was the end of the problem of hearing what people say. And another solution to that problem was to put on the speakerphone, that worked nicely!

I recently listened to a sales talk via a conference call and found that I could mute the microphone very easily so I could munch away while listening to the call. It was obvious that others did not have or use the same feature as there were beeps and bumps and strange noises all during the hour and half long call.

I wake up every morning from the alarm I set on the phone. This is a great feature as I do not have an alarm clock except for the personal built in one which often wakes me up just before the cell phone alarm rings!

I have used the camera quite extensively. I took a bunch of photos of the place where I am staying and sent these off to my e-mail address and was able to attach them to an e-mail to my folks. I was well pleased with this feature.

Unfortunately, I have not yet mastered the video. I sent it to my e-mail address but I could not play it as my computer would not recognize the 3pg format. I did not spend any time looking for help on how to make this work, as there was no obvious solution. If you know how, you are welcome to make a post so that I can find out!

I have not tried the text messaging feature.

That's about it for now, I will probably do another post in a week!

Cheers,

Stephan
