The wonders of loyalty

I have unlimited minutes! I used to watch my minutes very carefully, but no more. I have as many minutes I need. I got this when T-Mobile offered me this deal because I had not upgraded my phone, or skipped to another carrier when my 2 years were up. I think that is a wonderful reward for loyalty.

Thanks T-mobile!

Texting. Is it a waste of money

I seldom use texting. I prefer email, or to call directly. And each text message costs me 25c which seems a bit much.

However, for those who text a lot, there is a resurected service that can be used which interconnects cell phone to facebook to messaging application.

http://www.chattotext.com/amember/go.php?r=5482&i=l0

It's a 5-minute video about a brand new application (computer program) you can add to your social network page (works now with Facebook and Bebo, and soon MySpace). You just add it to your profile page and your friends or business associates can send you a private text message to your cell phone, and you can reply with your cell phone and they'll get it while they're still on your profile page!

It's called Chat To Text.

Not somethingI feel I could use. But perhaps it might be of interest to you

I had another of these "duh!!!!" moments.

I was scrolling down my list of contacts. One by one, down the list trying to get the the letter M. I have always done it this way. After all when I first started the list was not all that long. But the list has grown until now it is rather long.

I accidentally pushed the "2" and I found myself back in the "A's". Pushing the 6 put me in the "M's".

Oh dear! Another secret of the universe has been unlocked!

Its an old phone...

My phone is two years old and I am finding out about it still.

Imagine! I was always sliding the phone out of its sleeve to answer a call!!!! But why do that? The leather sleeve has a hole where the microphone is and where the speaker is! I sometimes wonder how a bright lad like me could not have worked it out sooner!

To flip, slide, or not

There are a number of formats to choose from.

My preference is the straight phone. No clamshell lid to break off, no slider to get jammed. Just a simple phone that works.

flipping a phone open has the disadvantage of the flip lid breaking off. It allows the ear piece to be closer to the air and the mouth to be right over the microphone. But the straight phone works just as well as long as there is not a lot of noise about.

The slider is also fraught with bedevilment as you have to slide over those keys etc. I have not seenone of these malfunction, unlike the flip top phone. But it is an engineering complication ripe for the malfunction!

Have you seen those YouTube videos about cell phones being used to pop corn? And I put a cell phone next to my head? Even when I have an earpiece available. So I need to take the proper precautions and use the earpiece a lot more, especially for calls that I expect to be long!

Well, I did not make it to the phone store.

So this gives me a bit more time to mull over what a phone is for.

Main function is to be a device for connecting with other people, to arrange meeting points and interchange data. But it seems to be a means to sell me things. I get calls from Dish companies, my van from 1991 is just in danger of being out of warranty, I need to sign up with a network marketing guru, and whatever.

So I need to focus more on using it as a means to get in touch with others to get them to join me in my endeavors while at the same time helping them with theirs!

But carrying it around all the time, fully mobile, is a bit scary because of the radiation!
